Second, reading that blog is an perfect example of why CCP pwns so many other MMOS/MMO communities. You just don't see that kind of stuff from other developers, most barely write blogs.

Third, words can not describe the sadness I feel for the damage that has been done to my game and the reputation of the people who make it. The reality is CCP got real-life griefed and I have already heard people around me who don't play the game bring up the issue of corruption when I talk about my beloved past time. It is all most people remember because it is all that makes news, and news travels fast on the net.

Because of this, I think it is the responsibility of anyone who cares about this game to spread the truth anytime they see this topic mentioned in the outside world.

As players of the game we are also ambassadors of it to those who do not play and it is up to us to make sure the truth is heard.

Its long past time that CCP did the rest of the EVE community a service by dealing firmly and finally with the people who are so unhappy with them and this game that they attempt to disrupt it like this. Please start defending us AND your employees - you have a duty of care to them - show the people disrupting this game and this communtiy the door, cancel their accounts, and block their access. I'm sick listening to them whine, as I'm sure are most people here.

I, for one, want to find out if the (previously alleged) way reporter was sacked was true, or he lied and falsified IRC logs/story? I am sure you keep IRC logs, so you should be able to check timestamps and see if that Admiral whatever did really come to IRC just after the 'incident', and if that IRC log is valid, or falsified.

Evidence presented looks fair, but I have few minor questions:

1. What email client is showing spell/grammar errors while reading email? I presume GM didn't take, by chance a screenshot while writing an email. I know, it's silly detail, but it bugs me.

2. Why couldn't you show us petition date, on petition screen for bumping the dread? We can see petition history for DS1 guy, why couldn't we see petition date for bumping dread issue?

3. Reporter (allegedly) worked for ISD for over a year. Why was he so instantly sacked after petition for 'bumping' a dread? Especially, if his version of the story is true, and you teleport directly to ship and can't choose distance? Seems strange to fire someone just like that, after a mistake he (allegedly) didn't even have influence on.

Now let's have a think about this:

Alliance 1
- Apparently once got a crappy bpo from a dev. 98% of the alliance never even knew about it
- Are widely regarded as some of eve's most experienced pilots and have made some friends in CCP through their long standing commitment to the game
- Defaced another alliances killboards
- Post in a manner ubefitting an alliance or general players
- Knew a corp member was a Dev and didn't report it.
- Use *dodgy* tactics and things that should be exploits (POS Bowling)


Alliance 2
- Launches a smear campaign on the whole of eve, using a fabricated story to try to damage the game through both internal and external websites
- Has a new CEO who condoned the explictly racist, offensive and illegal images his friends have been posting on the forums all day, mocking terrorist attacks and ethnic minorities. I'm not even going to mention their earlier, famous 'signature' of a year or so ago
- Launched an effective DOS spam-grief that caused the forums to be locked down and ruined the most recent posts of the entire eve community
- Were proved to have lied about the vast majority of their claims just so sabotage a game they were losing, but which others love


Wonder which one I'd rather be in? Leave, Goons, we're sick of you.

Knew that a corp member was a Dev and didn't report it: Oh grow up. Almost every alliance, including Goons have a Dev in them.

Used dodgy tactics: Is that stuff like node blobbing and bookmark bombs then? Oh wait, no that was goons. Or do you mean client hacks?

I see the usual alts are going strong in this thread as well, it's sad that people have tried to reduce the game to this extent. Now it appears these alts try to shift the focus from their allegations which were proven to be falsified over to the fact that devs have friends (And no, I don't have any access to devs.) I have met John Carmack once, and I do have contact with Yahn Bernier from Valve, does this mean that I cheated at Quake, Counter-Strike or Teamfortress?

The fact of the matter is simply a few players are trying to hold CCP hostage with unfounded allegations and blatant lies and use these "sensationalized" allegations to try to disrupt the business operations of CCP. I agree with Arkanon as well that the ôtimingö of these events, the use of several internet sites is very telling and validates these arguments. The ôGoonswarmö and others were not interested in truly getting to the bottom of any issue they may have felt was wrong, they wanted to cause as much havoc and grief as possible.

ôThe allegations investigated above by this internal affairs department will also be examined by our legal resources, as we do not intend to sit idly by while our servers, community and reputation are under attack.ö

This is the best news yet, and offers hope that these unwarranted attacks from a very disturbed group of players on a ôpower tripö will come to an end.

Xophyte im stunned, how can you say that, your own alliance has openly admitted and not once denied having direct links to CCP, and on the original claims by goonfleet, CCP have carefully avoided answering the most damaging part of each issue.
